There's still time to register for an upcoming writers workshop hosted by the Salem Chapter of Willamette Writers. The event takes place Sunday, March 16, at the Salem Public Library. Featured speaker is WordPress evangelist, writer, blogger, and web publishing consultant Lorelle VanFossen.

The focus of the four hour workshop will be how to "Build a WordPress Website for Writers". General topics will include:

1) Site and content organization and structure (pages, posts, categories, tags, etc)

2) The basics on how to publish and write for the web.

3) Integration and automation of social media. (participants should bring login information for the social networks they belong to)

4) Site design tips and techniques especially for writers.

This is a highly interactive workshop. Participants will create a free WordPress.com website, even if they already have one, to experiment with in class. So those planning to attend will need to arrive with more than just a pen and paper. For a complete list of items that attendees will need to bring, please visit the Willamette Writers Salem Chapter's Workshop Page.
