If you own a dog then you know the relationship between dog and owner is one with many rewards. There are, however, also challenges that come along with dog ownership; such as your curious dog chasing a squirrel or cat down the street, or digging under the fence only to escape and become lost. These challenges are especially true when you are not at home but want to allow your dog some fresh air. With Wuf these challenges are erased.
What does the Wuf collar do?
The CEO of startup company Wuf and cofounder is Sean Kelly of Boulder, Colorado. The idea for Wuf was born out of the complexity of his own dog ownership encouraging him to design what is being called “the world’s smartest dog collar”. This collar is specially designed with GPS capabilities that are activated in the even that your dog escapes. No more inserting chips that only work if you are lucky enough to have someone turn your dog in or be picked up by the pound. Wuf allows you to track the exact location of your dog when it is most important. When you purchase a Wuf it comes with a prepaid $10 credit for GPS services and from there the owner will only have to pay when the GPS needs to be activated. So if your dog doesn’t run away you won’t ever have to pay any additional fees. Another inventive way in which Wuf works is with a vibration mechanism in the collar instead of electric shocks. You can train your dog and the collar to the perimeters he is permitted and when he reaches the border the collar will vibrate signaling the dog to go back.
Wuf is far more than an average collar and is a device that allows piece of mind for you and your pets. Stacy Thompson says, “I already found a solution for my sugar gliders and now I feel like my sweet puppy is safe when I’m away as well.”
