(Tampa Bay, FL) WTSP-TV 10 News has hired Kate Wentzel who will join the station’s weather reporting team beginning Monday September 26. She comes to the Tampa Bay area after five years at WPBF in West Palm Beach. Previously she was the chief meteorologist at KEYT in Santa Barbara, CA and a weather forecaster at WSVN in Miami and with the Florida News Channel in Tallahassee.
“Kate is going to be another great addition to the team,” said WTSP News Director Peter Roghaar. “She brings almost ten years of experience forecasting Florida weather and it hurricane- tested.” he added.
A native of San Diego, Wentzel moved to West Palm Beach in 1995 and graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a B.A. in Communications. She completed her studies at Mississippi State University's broadcast meteorology program in 2002. She holds broadcast seals of approval from both the American Meteorology Society and the National Weather Association.
Kate Wentzel is the third Meteorologist to join WTSP in the past two months joining Jim Van Fleet as Chief Meteorologist and Mark Collins.
