The Washington State Cougars had great weather and a very nice crowd behind them as they took their #18 national ranking up against #6 Florida State on Friday.

The Cougars fell 1:0 in a tough match on a second half goal by FSU's Amanda DaCosta.

"There was a lot to be pleased with in our performance," Cougar Head Coach Matt Potter told WSUCougars.com. "We did not get the result we wanted, but we created chances and played even for most of the match against an outstanding Florida State team."

Earlier in the day the Gonzaga Bulldogs beat the Utes of Utah 2:1 as a part of the Washington State Invitational tournament.
