Writing with Tender Loving Care - TLC Writing Retreats

In this time of daily stress and pressures, friends Tammy L. Coia and Linda George Brown have banded together to create a lovely and inspirational writing retreat for anyone who needs some TLC in their lives. The two women share their love for writing and thought that nothing would be more fun than to share this passion with like-minded individuals. You don’t have to be a writer to take part. It’s more about the emotional affects and the healing writing can provide. We all have had a fair share of struggles in our lives, and writing is known to relieve this emotional pain. We can put feelings on paper, pour our hearts into the written word, and therefor let go of the past.

The retreats are held in quaint and relaxed hotels at well-known resorts such as Loreto Bay, Mexico, the Riviera of Baja, exciting Palm Springs, CA, the playground of the rich and famous, and the Whidbey Island, WA, voted the best seaside village in Sunset Magazine. “In Loreto we each stay in our own private villa and in Palm Springs and Whidbey Island we stay at a private executive home. Whidbey Island is right on the water, and we offer single occupancy!” says Tammy proudly. ”The adventure begins with a meet and greet (hotel stay and all meals are included in the price) leading into over 25 hours of workshops over a week’s worth of time.”

Tammy, a speaker, author, and writing teacher for over 2 decades, is a motivated person who loves people. Her infectious smile will make you feel at ease and take the “I’m-not-sure-what-to-write-fear” away in minutes. She focuses in turning memories and words into meaningful memoirs. Tammy’s credentials include businesswoman of the year in the bay area, she has served on the board of The National League of American Pen Women and the Palm Springs Writer’s Guild, and she taught the Writing for Wellness classes at the Lucy Curci Cancer Center at Eisenhower Hospital. She also earned a B.S. in Education.

Linda’s literary works have been published in Arizona Life, Sawaddi Asian Arts and Culture and the Los Gatos Times. She is an amazing writer and with her expertise of planning corporate fundraising and large events, she is a perfect partner to TLC’s mission. Linda is currently working on a series of short stories about her life overseas and is very much looking forward to meeting new students at the workshops, who share her enthusiasm.

The ladies are thrilled about their new joint adventure. Their main mission is to make sure that their students are being able to tap into their creativity and enjoy personal reflection. Relaxation and mind-searching, finding out who you are and what you are looking for in life, through writing and allowing yourself to be free, if only for a week. Tell your story! Feel the emotions, because through this writing process you will reinvent yourself, and you will heighten your self-esteem and increase your self-worth. The motto is “You can do it!” Let the journey begin!
