Writing a Radio Play-Part 3:"Face the Music

The last 2 weeks, my articles were about the character development of my new radio play. This week, it’s time to “Face the Music”. (No, that isn’t a song in the show!) You will learn about the various types of music compiled for this play (everything from country to pop!) and how each of the songs corresponds to a different celebrity character.

From the outset, we made a list of all of the music needed for the show. Each of us had cd’s of the various artists and music and we would bring them into class each week (that was pretty fun as there was more than a bit of dancing involved!)As time wore on and more characters were added to the play, we began feeling that a playlist might be the best way to compile all the music, as we didn’t have some of the music of the newer artists ( Fun fact: it was during this period that Susan Boyle made an appearance as a one scene character.)

So I offered to make a playlist, and I did, along with another revised list of the various music that was on the playlist. Unfortunately, Living Innovations’ Portsmouth space does not have an internet connection, which is needed to run the music. So, we are currently working on burning a cd of the music (An update on the cd will be coming soon, possibly in the next article.)

That concludes this week’s Writing a Radio Play entry. Please comment below, subscribe, and share with your friends. If you want to see me write about a particular subject, than by all means, let me know. Thanks for reading!!!!!
