Wright honored again

D’Andre Wright had another tremendous performance, it got him recognition from Conference USA again.

The Lawton (Okla.) Eisenhower product had a 21-point performance in Tulsa’s 101-92 triple overtime win against Houston Saturday night at the Reynolds Center led to him being named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week by the league on Monday.

Wright scored 14 of the Golden Hurricane’s 31 overtime points. He made 8-of-11 field goals and pulled down seven rebounds in the game, including 5-of-6 shots during the overtime periods.

Wright also got the honor last week after a 25-point performance in TU’s road win at UTEP on Feb. 9.

Regulation ended with the score tied at 70-70. It was 79-79 at end of first overtime and 86-86 through second overtime.

In the third extra period, Tulsa outscored Houston, 15-6.

The Golden Hurricane remain home to meet East Carolina at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
