Wrestling Legend Bruno Sammartino to appear in Baltimore on October 9th

Wrestling fans have a great opportunity to meet and greet one of the greatest wrestling superstars ever....Bruno Sammartino!!!

“My Italian Dinner with Bruno Sammartino” is co-sponsored by WNST (1570 AM) and Baltimore Sun, and co-hosted by WNST owner Nestor Aparicio and Baltimore Sun columnist and MCW's Kevin Eck. Tickets for the event are $75.00.

The event, which will feature a dinner and a Q&A, will take place on Saturday afternoon, October 9th at Amicci's in Little Italy (231 South High Street - Baltimore, MD).

Sammartino is one of the most popular superstars ever. His reign as WWE (then known as WWWF - World Wide Wrestling Federation) Champion is the longest in history, both in total days held (4,040), and in one single reign (2,803 days). In total days as Champion, the next five are Hulk Hogan (2,185), Bob Backlund (2,138), Pedro Morales (1,027), and John Cena (947). Most believe that Bruno's records will never be broken. Some of his greatest matches include the first-ever "face vs. face" WWE Title match between Sammartino and champion Pedro Morales (which ended in a 60-minute draw), and his legendary steel cage match against Larry Zbyszko at Shea Stadium in 1980. But longtime Maryland wrestling fans remember, perhaps, one of Bruno's worst days, which happened here in Baltimore. On April 30, 1977 at the now-First Mariner Arena, Superstar Billy Graham defeated Bruno to end his second and final WWE title reign.
