The computer-animated Disney film 'Wreck-It Ralph' will be coming to DVD in March, and in a digital download form even earlier, Gamespot reports on January 4.
As reported by Disney Home Video, the digital downloads will be available on February 12: the film will be available in both an HD download format, as well as an HD 3D download format. The physical DVD and Blu-Ray versions will be in stores on March 5.
Disney will release multiple versions of the DVD, as has become the industry standard. There will be a standalone DVD with just the film. Then there will be a two-disc special edition with the film, as well as bonus features, and a four-disc special edition. The two-disc edition is both the DVD and Blu-Ray copies (again, an industry standard to release them both together); the four-disc edition is the DVD, Blu-Ray, as well as both HD and HD 3D digital downloads.
'The digital, collector's edition and ultimate collector's edition,' reports Gamespot, 'will come with bonuses such as the "making of" feature called "Bit by Bit: Creating the Worlds of Wreck-It Ralph", alternate and deleted scenes, video game commercials for the titles created for the movie, and the animated short called Paperman that was shown before the film in its theater run. The Blu-ray copy will also have a video feature which points out the many video game references in Wreck-It Ralph, hosted by stand-up comedian Chris Hardwick.'
'Wreck-It Ralph', released earlier this year, tells the story of a video game character named Ralph who plays the villain in a game. When he gets tired of his repetitive, evil existence, he decides to leave his game in search of another place in the video game world. The film features cameos froms dozens of classic and modern video game characters and environments. The film has already been nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film.
