WPMI-TV recently started reusing a famous drawing depicting the "Crichton Leprechaun", a character that both they and WKRG-TV had popularized back in March 2006 in news reports about residents of the Crichton neighborhood of Mobile claiming to have seen a leprechaun in their neighborhood. For example, they were using it in recent editions of their local news programs to designate Saint Patrick's Day (Monday, March 17th) in their weather segments, including their "7-day" forecasts. They had also used it in their designing of a cover image for their official Facebook page for Saint Patrick's Day.
