WPMI-TV news presenter broadcasts personal story about cancer

On Monday, February 4th, WPMI-TV broadcast a report during their local 10:00 p.m. newscast about how Greg Peterson, a news presenter for the station, realized he had cancer in his prostate in October 2012 and how the cancer was treated afterwards. The station had publicized the report prior to its broadcast through promotional advertisements that were broadcast during commercial breaks for the TV programs they had scheduled broadcast on their main broadcast channel.

Greg Peterson introduced the report during the newscast and provided additional details about his health immediately after the report was broadcast. Video of the report along with its introduction and update were uploaded onto the World Wide Web site for the station by 11:12 p.m. (a written version of the report was posted onto the site at 8:57 p.m.).
