On Monday, March 18th, Abby Gresham of WPMI-TV appeared during the local newscast her station produced between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m as part of her new role of Internet reporter for the station's morning newscasts. The morning newscast produced on March 18th was the first to feature her in the new role (her first televised appearance as Internet reporter was announced in advance on Wednesday, March 13th on the Twitter page for Tami Brehse, a morning news presenter for the station).
Abby Gresham got the position of Internet reporter as a result of her former colleague Michael Brannon leaving the position on Wednesday, February 27th, in order to begin working for the news department of WALA-TV. Before she got the position, she was an editor for the station and did not appear during the station's local news programming on a regular basis.
