WPMI-TV broadcast the network news program "Today" one hour later than usual this Sunday, May 11th, during the time period they normally used for broadcasting the network news program "Meet the Press" on a weekly basis (between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.) since the providers of their programming at the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) had no plans to provide a new edition of "Meet the Press" that day due to their plan to provide live soccer programming that day (the soccer programming plans did not affect WPMI-TV's plan to broadcast the religious program "Rejoice in the Lord" during its regular weekly time period of 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., even though the soccer programming was set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and end by 1:00 p.m. )
