On Sunday, December 30th, both WPMI-TV and WJTC-TV were broadcasting the theatrical movie "The Devil Wears Prada" during the same time period. Their broadcasts began at 12:00 p.m. and ended by 2:00 p.m.
Before the movie was broadcast, the stations often broadcast the same programs provided by syndicates due to their combined operations and their having the same owner (their latest owner was Deerfield Media, Inc., even though the Sinclair Broadcast Group, the owners of WEAR-TV and WFGX-TV, managed them through a shared-services agreement and and a joint-sales agreement with Deerfield Media, Inc.). Normally the programs they shared were scheduled for broadcast in separate time periods. For example, WJTC-TV was usually set to broadcast an edition of "The Dr. Oz Show" at 9:00 a.m. while WPMI-TV was set to broadcast the same edition of the program later the same day at 2:00 p.m. in accordance with their regular programming schedules for Monday through Friday.
