Comedian Drew Carey, host of The Price Is Right, lost a staggering 80 pounds in six months by following an extremely low-carb diet and doing 45 minutes of intense cardio exercise six days a week.

'10 MORE POUNDS'

Carey, 52, isn't done yet -- he still wants to shed more weight.

"I'm still working on it," Drew told ETOnline on July 28, 2010. "I still have about 10 pounds to lose before I'm happy."

'NO CARBS, NO STARCHES, LOTS OF CARDIO'

While the 5'10" Drew wouldn't disclose his current weight, he reveals he lost "at least 80 pounds." So how did he do it? "Absolutely no carbs, not even a cracker, no corn, nothing," Carey says. "No starches at all. Egg whites, nothing but water to drink. Steamed vegetables. And lots of cardio." Drew_Carey_weight_loss_before_price_is_right

Drew, whose dramatic transformation mirrors that of fellow comedian John Goodman (who recently lost over 100 pounds), was unrecognizable when he showed up July 28 at the 2010 CBS Television Critics Assn. Party in L.A.

Carey recounts: "They didn't recognize me coming in here. I went to park my car and they were like, 'Whoa, whoa, sir, sir.' I said, 'I'm with CBS on The Price is Right. I kind of blew by him and parked downstairs."

He continues: "One guy came up to me and he goes, 'I'm really sorry about the confusion, you just don't look the same.'"

The same thing happened when Drew traveled to South Africa last month to watch the World Cup. "I went to the World Cup and I was going through passport patrol and people were looking at my passport and doing a double take everywhere I went," he laughs.

'SICK OF BEING FAT'

Carey, who's no longer diabetic thanks to his stunning weight loss, told Us he "just got sick of being fat." The funny man is on a health kick "so I can be looking that great at 86."

Drew's waist shrank from a size 44 pants to a 33-34. "My fiancee has a 5-year old, and wow, I'd love to see him graduate," he says. "I'd love to be able play with him without getting tired, enjoy my life and watch him grow."

sorry, he looks old and worn out with the weight off, maybe 25 lbs would have been good but gee, a person with a severe illness looks better except the suit. sounds a lot like the old atkins diet..watch out, time will turn you into a real sick man if you keep this as a real life diet. I know and have friends who know too. watch your health but the swing weight loss can reek havoc.

While i commend drew for trying to be healthy, eating NO carbs just isn't healthy at all. You have to have some carbs, i dont like when people go on extreme diets. Its only a matter of time before they regain the weight, and then some.

Peter: Atkins never was, nor will it ever will be, a no carb diet. Sadly, many people like yourself speak about it as if you know what you're talking about, but you do not. At its lowest, Atkins restricts you to 20 carbs a day, mostly from vegetables.

Please do some research before you mislead people.
