The Emmy Awards 2013 have wrapped up, and it's time to start analyzing the fashion choices our favorite stars made on Sunday night (Sept. 22). We already named our list of best dressed celebs at this year's biggest night in television; below, find the darker side of red carpet fashion: the flubs, the fails and the just plain bizarre!
The show "Girls" was responsible for two of the very worst Worst Dressed Emmys 2013 crimes of the evening: Lena Dunham sorely disappointed in coral-and-dusty-blue floral print Prada. It was very, very wrong. But it was nothing compared to co-star Zosia Mamet in her tie-dye travesty; the gown could have been sort of pretty, with its unique, almost-watercolor print, but the bizarre bib (featuring, for no discernible reason, a floating black leather mini-bra) completely killed it.
Emmy-winner Claire Danes washed out in a dress that washed her out to near-invisibility. Luckily, her flawless complexion, scarlet lips and bright blond locks saved the actress from completely disappearing against the white background of the red carpet.
Dance pro Julianne Hough confused us in her custom gray Jenny Packham gown, which featured a strapless bodysuit and a sheer, flowing skirt with all-over tiny pearl embellishments. The overall look was vaguely ethereal and should have been quite pretty, but the top half of this look just didn't do the blond bombshell justice.
While Julianne seemed under-dressed, some stars seemed to go overboard. Heidi Klum looked beautiful as always, but her Versace gown actually seemed too elaborate for the Emmys; to us, it felt more Vegas showgirl and less red carpet.
Finally, we think "Nashville" star Connie Britton made a mistake when she donned a plush blue strapless Oriental rug -- sorry, gown -- by designer Naeem Khan. We debated this one, but in the end decided there's really just no way to keep this dress off the Worst Dressed Emmys 2013 list.
