Worried Moms Web Site: Flight tracking

There is a web site that can be a Godsend to a worried mom with a child on an airplane. Flightview.com provides real time flight tracking to ease the mind of anyone anxious over the arrival or departure of a friend or family member.

There are several ways to track a flight, and you don't really have to have the flight number in most cases. You can choose between the two tracking tabs: Flight and Route. If you aren't sure about some of that, you can click on Airports at the top of the page choose the arrival airport. By narrowing down the options by airliner, departure location, and arrival time, you can probably deduce which flight you need to track.

If you are waiting at the airport, you can also use your mobile phone. Go to the mobile site:  www.mobile.flightview.com.

The site provides general information with updated arrival times. If you choose "Live Tracking," you can follow the little airplane as it makes its way to its destination, with up to the minute information provided.

Warning to the timid: It can be somewhat unsettling to watch the live tracking, seeing the plane holding your precious cargo on the screen, imagining a sudden nosedive of the little icon.

Having watched with a friend from Bristol as her daughter landed at JFK, I realized this.

Be sure and visit Groovy Gadget Girl on the web. You can also follow @barbiecrafts on Twitter or find Barbie Crafts (Writer) on Facebook.  Do you have Google+?  Barbie Crafts is on there, too!
