Dragonmaster Outcast is just one of seven Worldwake Magic: the Gathering cards that were spoiled this morning. View a slideshow of the others: Admonition Angel, Kor Firewalker, Kalastria Highborn, Bestial Menace, Paladin de Talus, and Lavaklauen-gebiet.
Dragonmaster Outcast reads:
Dragonmaster Outcast – R
Creature – Human Shaman
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control six or more lands, put a 5/5 red dragon creature token with flying onto the battlefield.
1/1
If Dragonmaster Outcast looks familiar, it may be because Zendikar just gave us Scute Mob. While both cards are similar with a casting cost of one and a triggored ability that is based off the number of lands in play, their differences are large.

Scute Mob

Dragonmaster Outcast is arguably weaker than Scute Mob for three main reasons. Dragonmaster Outcast requires six lands under one’s control for it’s ability, whereas Scute Mob only requires five. Dragonmaster Outcast is also very susceptible to burn and combat damage, while a Scute Mob only needs to fear the first turn in play because it grows bigger.
Dragonmaster Outcast is also weaker because it is a slow red card. Green players have access to Harrow and other land searching effect that make Scute Mob’s ability relevant as early as turn four. Red players will need to wait until their seventh turn comes before seeing a dragon on the board.
While Dragonmaster Outcast may not be the next Tarmogoyf, it will certainly shine in Limited – provided it survives to the next upkeep.

The only problem with your reasoning is that your wrong. This card easily out shines scute mob. Scute Mob can be killed with terminate and smother even after it has been pumped several times however this guy is making 5/5 Flyers. Evasion is very important. I can block your 40/40 scute mob all day long but try to block my 6 5/5 flyers. Both creatures are both easily fetched with Ranger of Eos, However Red White is definitly the better deck for Ranger right now. This guy also shines in the Valakut decks.
Good job with localizing your content at the end --some Examiners are struggling with that!
Have to disagree with Matt. Terminate and Smother kill both equally, so your argument is irrelevant. The evasion part is nice but again, like Scute Mob, this guy must live to the next upkeep. Heck, even Seismic Shudder spreads fear into both their worlds....until next turn when it would only affect the Outcast and not the Mob. They both will have their place and initially it looks like a Naya deck with roughly one or two copies of each.
Great job making this local!

Dragonmaster would be great for my green/red deck. The way im structured, i could get 6 lands very easily in a couple of turns. ^^
