Worldwake's Avenger of Zendikar and Treasure Hunt

For those who have not caught up with spoilers for the upcoming Magic: the Gathering set Worldwake, you may want to catch up.  Anowan, the Ruin Sage and Urge to Feed were revealed earlier this week along with Abyssal Persecutor, Novablast Wurm, and Hada Freeblade.  Raging Ravine and Chain Reaction were both revealed last week, and additionally we've recently recieved Everflowing Chalice, Amulet of Vigor, Quest for Ula's Temple, and Explore.  Today's Daily Magic articles bring us Avenger of Zendikar and Treasure Hunt.

When Avenger of Zendikar enters the battlefield, put a 0/1 green Plant creature token onto the battlefield for each land you control.
Landfall -- Whenever a land enters the battleild under your control, you may put a +1/+1 counter on each plant creature eyou control.

Avenger of Zendikar does justice to the Mythic Rarity.  It's not a card that everyone needs to have in order to play Standard, it it garunteed to not see play in any tournament setting other than limited.  It does scream Timmy, and Avenger of Zendikar is sure to wind up in many casual green decks.  Because it's a Mythic, and a card that casual players will like, it will retain (some) value.  Mythics should remain big spells and creatures meant for casual players, and not cards that everyone and their mom needs to play in a tournament setting (ie Walletslayer Angel).

Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card, then put all cards revealed this way into your hand.

Treasure Hunt will surely see play alonside Jace, the Mindsculptor due to the fact that it can net three cards for two mana (when you put two lands on top of your library with Jace).  Any spell or ability that will let on put lands on the top of their deck will pair well with Treasure Hunt.

Everflowing Chalice, Amulet of Vigor, Quest for Ula's Temple, and Explore are several other Worldwake cards that were recently spoiled.

Everflowing Chalice is cute little artifact that can grow.  Everflowing Chalice makse a great two drop in the early game, and is sure to see play at the four and six mana drops in Limited and Casual environments.

Amulet of Vigor just screams to be broken.  It pairs very nicely with lands that come enter the battlefield tapped such as Crumbling Necropolis and Boros Garrison.  It also makes Time Vault and Mirror Mirror work the first turn in play.

Quest for Ula's Temple cannot be fully judged until Worldwake is completely spoiled, however it is safe to say that this will end up as a casual card.  There just isn't enough Leviathan, Octopus, and Serpant creatures that are worth playing in a competitive constructed deck.  One could take advantage of Changeling creatures and make a fun witty deck with Quest for Ula's Temple.

There is no doubt that Explore will see play, both in Limited and Constructed formats alike.  The disadvantage to Explore is that in the early turns of the game, one many not be holding a land that produces a specific color that they need, and wish that they were holding a Rampant Growth instead.  Later in the game, Explore is better than Rampant Growth because there is the chance to recieve a business spell.  In the end it will be a matter of personal preference.
