If, like this author, you are more likely to be found at the cinema than at the ballpark chances are pretty good you’ve never heard of the Toledo Mud Hens. Well, listen up, cause you just found a new favorite minor league baseball team. The Mud Hens are the Triple A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and they are pretty awesome.

The team revealed via Instagram on Feb. 27 that they will be wearing “Ghostbusters” uniforms on May 30 to celebrate the seminal classic’s 30th anniversary. So, if there’s something strange in your neighborhood, it could just be the case that the Mud Hens are a viable alternative to Doctors Venkman, Stantz and Spengler.

There’s no word yet if the StayPuft Marshmallow Man will be on hand to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, but those interested can see the first artwork of the jerseys here.

This isn’t the first time the team has worn a cinema inspired uniform, and the last time they did it, they came, they saw and they kicked nerd-fashion’s a**.

For a May, 4 2013 game the Mud Hens wore pretty awesome Chewbacca jerseys in honor of the unofficial “Star Wars” day. (“May the fourth,” sounds like “May the force,” but you already knew that, right?). The Chewbacca-themed jerseys, which some would say are trés Kashyyk, were auctioned off for charity following that evening’s game, so it stands to reason fans may be able to get their mitts on one of the upcoming “Ghostbusters” jerseys if they are willing to pony up the dough.

So, what should be the Mud Hens next themed jersey? Our vote is for something in the Marvel universe.
