After what can only be described as a shocking and blockbuster night during January's NWA Houston event, they return to the Cypress VFW this Friday night for their "Love Hurts" event. It will feature a former WWE star and a World Tag Team Title match.
"Ironman" Rob Conway, well-known for his time in WWE as part of the anti-American group La Resistance, heads to Cypress to take on Ricky Starks. Since making his debut with NWA Houston, Starks has had his success. But this will definitely be his biggest challenge to date in Cypress. Conway makes his debut this Friday night, and looks to make an impact one of the company's brightest stars.
In what has turned into a vicious and brutal feud, "Killer" Brent McKenzie faces off against former Path of Resistance member Ray Rowe. These two have battled back and forth for several months, including last month's encounter, and will likely continue to tear each other apart this Friday night.
NWA Houston's resident Triple Crown Champion, "One Man" Mike Dell puts the NWA Lone Star Junior Heavyweight Championship on the line this week, as he faces the debuting AJ Summers. Dell has cruised past the competition the last few months all over Texas, and has his sights set on ruining Summers' debut.
Real America returns to Cypress this week, as Chaz Taylor and Hambone face off against the tough challenge of Jasper Davis and David "Super" Duperon. This should be an exciting match featuring four of the top names at NWA Houston. Both Chaz and Hambone have been out of action recently, but fans will be happy to see them back in Cypress.
The NWA Lone Star Heavyweight Championship will be on the line Friday night, as the "Vanilla Godzilla" Jax Dane puts the gold up against Alex Reigns. Fans have seen Reigns in Cypress before, and are aware of what he's capable of. Jax is proving his status as a champion that takes on all challengers, but will be need to be alert as Reigns makes his return to NWA Houston.
The NWA World Tag Team Champions will also be in the house, as Scot Summers and Ryan Genesis continue their reign of terror. They will be challenged by Carson and "The Modern Day Hero" Kevin Douglas. Several months ago, Douglas was viciously attacked by Summers and Genesis, leaving him battered and bruised in the middle of the ring. Douglas has been on a mission to get revenge, and has enlisted the help of former NWA North American Champion Carson in the process.
Carson lost his title a month ago to Byron Wilcott, and would love nothing more than to add the title of NWA World Tag Team Champion to his resume. Summers and Genesis have been on a crusade to eliminate every possible threat to their titles, and have no problem leaving injured bodies to prove their point. A lot stands to be gained in the match on both sides, so look for both teams to do whatever it takes to walk away with the NWA World Tag Team Titles.
In other action, fan favorites collide as Jack Jameson faces former NWA Lone Star Junior Heavyweight Champion Rudy Russo and fans will see an appearance by NWA Lone Star Women's Champion Barbi Hayden.
