World Series of Poker champ arrested: 'FossilMan' jailed in prostitution sting?

WSOP update: News about "Fossilman," the poker champ arrested in an online prostitution ring, is making rounds on the Internet. Greg Raymer was jailed in North Carolina Wednesday after allegedly illegally soliciting sex; according to a March 15 TMZ report. Since then, the World Series of Poker Champion has made bail.

"Fossilman" and five or six other men reportedly responded to a fake online on a pay for sex site that was set up by Wake Forest Police Department.

The men and poker champ were arrested when they showed up at a hotel to meet so-called ladies of the night. Instead, they fell right into the hands of undercover officers, who promptly arrested and charged them with solicitation for prostitution and attempted crimes against nature.

While early reports suggested Greg Raymer was arrested as part of a male prostitution sting, investigators have now denied those details.

Although the initial rumors would have made for better headlines over its shock value, the road ahead for the professional poker player is the same.

Since pocketing the $5 million top prize, "Fossilman" has gone on to win other tournaments. Additionally, he operates a poker training school bearing is handle.

With the poker champ arrested, his future in the WSOP is uncertain.
