“Blue Great Dane Giant George, the tallest dog ever at 7ft 3, dies aged seven.”
The Word’s tallest dog ever died in his home in Tucson, Arizona.
The World’s Tallest Dog, as you might imagine, has its own official Facebook fan page. Giant George’s death was announced on the page, “ “It is with a heavy heart that we announce Giant George died last night. George passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones; one month before his eighth birthday”.
Giant George was able to reach 7 feet, 3 inches by standing on its hind legs.
He became a worldwide celebrity with appearances on the Oprah Winfrey show and Good Morning America.
Amazingly the Great Dane was the runt of a litter of 13 when he was born.
The tallest dog’s owners posted on the fan Facebook page that they were appreciative of the condolences for Giant George:
They wrote: Greetings from the Rainbow Bridge...
Humanoids, I am overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and sympathy expressed since my passing. My family, friends, and I can't thank you enough.
One of the overriding themes being communicated over the last several days is how to carry on the good will and charitable endeavors that have become the hallmark of my spirit....Just because my physical hugeness is gone, doesn't mean we can't continue to spread the love and have some fun along the way.
I hope you will continuing to support and follow my FB fan page and post photos of your fur babies, past and present. I will be honored to give a shout out to those who joined me in crossing the bridge.
As my old Irish granny used to say, "Let's keep this shenanigans going."
Thanks again for all the love, GG.
