The world’s tallest dog has died. Giant George was his name and he was the size of a small horse. The dog was almost seven feet long and he would stare you in the eye when you stood face to face with the world’s tallest dog.
According to an article on Oct. 25 from ABC News, this Great Dane was the runt of the litter and one big baby who was scared of the water. The world's tallest dog was also scared of other dogs, even though he towered over them. Giant George was most afraid of being alone, recall his owners Dave and Christie Nasser.
Giant George even had his own merchandise, which his owners donated a percentage of the sales to animal charities. George’s Facebook page is full of condolences from fans around the world as well as people that knew the Nasser family and their dog.
Giant George had appeared as the world’s tallest dog on many of the morning TV shows like “Good Morning America” and “Live with Regis and Kelly.”
The huge canine died Thursday, just one month before his eighth birthday. The dog’s website, GiantGeorge.com, indicates that he died at home peacefully surrounded by his family and friends
