I distinctly remember the first time I became aware of INGDirect. I was sitting in a tube station in London and one of their ads caught my eye. That's a great rate, I thought. Why don't we have that in America (and is there some way I can exchange my failing US dollars to Pounds Sterling and get an account, right now?)
Well, since that time, ING has come to America, and Americans online, in a big way. Last Monday, March 28, ING DIRECT’s CEO of Savings, Arkadi Kuhlmann announced the groundbreaking of ING DIRECT’s new Café at 101 Post Street in the heart of the city’s Financial District and just blocks from Union Square. San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee and other members of the SF financial community were there.
The San Francisco Cafe will be ING DIRECT's eighth Cafe nationwide. Designed to make saving money and banking a true retail and community experience, the Cafe will be a place where locals can have kitchen table conversations about finances and get to know ING DIRECT. Also, the community can get a great cup of coffee, surf the net through free WiFi and enjoy several floors of creative space to work or hold meetings. I say: check it out!
