Sexy Sadie, Mr. Kite and dear Prudence will no doubt be searching for a way out of Richardson Farm’s 13th corn maze which is carved with faces of The Beatles as well as guitars, drums, an LP record and a musical score.
The world's largest corn maze pays homage to the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first album with its 28-acre maze but that's not the only reason to schlep out to northwestern IL. Walk 11 miles of trails; skid down a 50-foot tube slide; just watch it all go down from the 50-foot observation tower; speed down 40-foot zip lines; hit the paintball gallery; set the kids free on giant jumping pillows or a fenced play area; take off on wagon rides and barrel swings; watch the pig races.
Clutch your Certificate of Completion after walking the entire maze and celebrate with kettle corn, brats, burgers, funnel cakes, fudge and soft drinks.
Admission is $13 teens and adults, $10 children 4-12, kids 3 and under free. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. Sundays; 3 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, through to Oct. 31. "Maze til Midnight" on two weekends when the moon is full: Sept. 20-21 and Oct. 18-19.
