World’s largest baseball card: Topps unveils largest card, Prince Fielder (Photos)

The world’s largest baseball card has been born. Topps has been making baseball cards for decades, but they have finally out done themselves. The king of baseball cards has created a Prince of epic proportions – a baseball card of Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder measuring 90 feet tall and 60 feet wide!

The Freep reported on Feb. 12 that the Tigers first baseman “graced the world's largest baseball card by Topps Company in anticipation for the Topps Series 1 baseball cards for 2013.”

To give an example of how big this card is, it would take 82,944 baseball cards and 83,966 official major league baseballs to cover the surface area of the new Topps Fielder card.

This card may actually be a collector's worst nightmare. How would you keep it in mint condition? I wonder how many pieces of the old style pink bubble gum it would take to fit into a pack of cards that size.

The card was revealed today in Lakeland, Fla. in front of Fielder, the media and the help of 100 excited youth athletes.
