The last Saturday of the month of April is World Reiki Day.
World Reiki Day events are held in their myriad forms to focus global attention on personal and world healing. All events are free and open to the public. All are invited to participate or organize local events of their own.
Events are varied in nature, some offering mind-body health education workshops, some offering participatory healing events, or meditation events, and others.
Each event is somewhat unique, but all connected by a vision of personal and global healing. World Reiki Day is just one of the family of World Healing Day (WHD) events held in hundreds of cities in over 70 nations on the last Saturday of April each year (see Chase Calendar of Events). Various WHD events have been officially proclaimed by governors of 22 US states, including now HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebilius. And by legislatures, senates, and ministries of various states and nations including New York and California.
Past WHD events have been held at the United Nations Building in NY, and also the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, Norway. Thousands have attended events in New York, Hong Kong, Uruguay, Brazil, and many nations.
