The Unicorn Theatre hosts the Rolling World Premiere of Grounded a play by George Brant. The premiere is part of The National New Play Network. Dedicated to the development, production, and continued life of new plays the network introduced its 37th Rolling World Premiere. Grounded was read on the stage of the Unicorn in 2012 and opened at the San Francisco Playhouse in September of 2013, followed by a run at Borderlands Theater in Tucson in October of 2013.

An F16 fighter pilot is relieved from active pilot status due to an unexpected pregnancy. Grounded from flying of sorties over Afghanistan and delegated to flying of remote-controlled drones from a command post in Las Vegas, the play delves into her struggles of 12-hour shifts and hunting terrorists by day and motherhood by night.

Cynthia Levin directs the production, performed in the round, on the Jerome Stage at the Unicorn Theatre, 3828 Main. Performances run Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m. The Unicorn urges audience members to remain after the show on January 28, February 2 and 4 to discuss the play with the actor and director.

Levin has been involved with over 260 productions at the Unicorn Theatre in roles as actor, director, designer, or producer over 35 seasons. Recent productions include Venus in Fur; My Name is Asher Lev, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and the world premiere of The Soul Collector among others. She is a founding member of the National New Play Network and received the Pinnacle Award for Excellence in the Arts from the Johnson County Library Foundation and the Human Rights Campaign Equality Award.
