The World of Outlaws Late Model Series recently released its 2014 schedule, and six tracks less than four hours from the Buffalo area are on that schedule, including four in New York State.
The 2014 WoO Late Model Series schedule, which begins in February in Georgia and Florida, will make its first scheduled nearby stop at Fonda Speedway in New York on Thursday, June 19th. The home of the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win race is just under four hours from Buffalo.
One of the premier events on the schedule is the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania – approximately 3.5 hours from Buffalo. The three-day event, Thursday through Saturday, June 26th through 28th, features an A-Main payout on Saturday night of $30,000, one of the richest payouts on the 2014 schedule. The Late Models return to Lernerville on Friday, August 29th. The next two days, Saturday and Sunday, August 30th and 31st, the teams head to Selinsgrove Speedway in Pennsylvania, approximately four hours from the Buffalo area. The two-day event pays out $8,000 to win in Saturday’s 40-lap A-Main and $10,000 for Sunday’s.
Two other potential dates – listed on the schedule as part of the Great Northern Tour – are on the schedule for Wednesday, June 18th and Saturday, June 21st.
