The World Luxury Expo takes place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The invitation-only gala, is the inaugural event, held at the most luxurious hotel in the world, the seven-star, Burj Al Arab. The function takes place from January 15-17, 2013.
Dubai is considered the "New" Middle East. It is reputed as a playground for the super-rich. Today's Dubai is a cosmopolitan metropolis, grown to become a global city and the business and cultural hub of the Middle East.
Jan. 15, Breaking Travel News reports, "World Luxury Expo will showcase the world’s leading luxury brands across a selection of carefully selected categories including fine art, high-end jewelry and fashion, handcrafted time pieces, designer furniture and exquisite table settings, automobiles, fine dining, private aviation, and luxury travel."
"All participating exhibitors are leaders in their respective fields, executing superior design qualities and always striving for the ultimate in quality and perfection."
Dubai as a city, has skyscrapers and high-rise buildings in a skyline, mirroring those found in US major cities. In 2011, Dubai is rated as one of the best places to live in the Middle East, by US American global consulting firm Mercer, which a New York headquartered, global consulting firm.
The luxury brand featured include, auto presenters, Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren and Mercedes-Benz. Aston Martin, will launch its global 100th anniversary celebration at the event. The Pro Art Gallery will be showcasing artwork from renowned artists, Damien Hirst and Andy Warhol.
Luxury timepieces in pre-view, are of special collections and limited edition pieces from Boucheron, Pomellato & H.Stern, all presented exclusively by Harvey Nichols, Dubai. An exclusive range of fur pieces will be presented by J Mendel and exotic skin handbags and leather goods will be shown by Asprey and Nancy Gonzalez.
The event is said to have brought together "the most prestigious names in luxury goods to an iconic venue in Dubai."
