What a great night of Soccer tonight in the US. For those still going through World Cup withdrawals, tonight will be a great way to get your fix.
First of all, most importantly, the only match that is not a friendly: San Jose vs. Chicago Fire, at 9:30 on NBC Sports Net. Like much of the season, Chicago gave up two points in the remaining minutes of their last match against Philadelphia. Can they get back to winning ways starting tonight against the Earthquakes?
Three days from now, Chicago will face English Club, Tottenham Hotspur in an International Friendly, kicking off a fantastic footballing weekend in Chicago that ends Sunday with Liverpool and Olympiakos.
Speaking of my beloved Liverpool; before the 9:30 MLS match, start the night off with Liverpool vs. Roma, live from Fenway Park at 6:00 p.m. on NBC Sports Net as well. Can the Mighty Reds get their US Tour off to a good start leading into one of their most anticipated Premier League campaigns?
If you prefer to walk alone and are a bit more of a Spurs fan, you can catch the Toronto vs. Tottenham match on ESPN2, also at 6:00 p.m. I imagine I will be switching back and forth. While the Liverpool match excites me, I really wish they were playing an MLS side.
And finally, this great night ends with a match between LA Galaxy and Manchester United at 10:00 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
It's been difficult getting back to normalcy after the World Cup, but these fun summer friendlies are good reminders of how lucky we are that good soccer is played year round.
Enjoy the night!
