World Autism Awareness Day

This Friday, April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. To bring awareness to the day, on the night of April 1, the Empire State Building will be lit up blue to shine a light on Autism.

Autism Speaks wants to light the rest of America blue, in cities and towns across the country by taking action to raise awareness about autism. Did you know Autism affects 1 in 110 children?

On April 2nd, they invite everyone to wear blue in support of autism. Please invite your friends, families and co-workers to wear blue to make April 2nd the biggest awareness-raising event for autism ever.

Some organizations who support Autism in Columbus are:

I am a fellow examiner, and a parent of an autistic seven year old boy. First of all, congrats on being the first article in a Google search! Second, thank you for covering such an important thing. I will be dressed in blue for sure. Thank you again.

Working as an autism consultant, it is a particular pleasure to see you providing information and raising awareness of this ever-expanding national health care crisis. I am all the more impressed in light of the Examiner's previous, excellent coverage on autism.
