Today we learned that the City of Chicago’s Small Business Center will be hosting its Social Media Boot Camp throughout the month of September. The Boot Camp is to be made up of four workshops that take place every Friday in September from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Room 805 at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St., in Chicago. The Small Business Center has partnered up with specialist and experts in social media to show small business owners and entrepreneurs the benefits of using social media to advance their business goals. The workshops are designed to show how to use social media to improve branding, online presence and gain credibility, as well as how to stay connected with potential and existing customers.

Sept. 5 “Facebook and Business Do Mix”
Sept. 12 “How to Use YouTube to Market Your Business”
Sept. 19 “Instagram 101 for Small Businesses: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”
Sept. 26 “Twitter for the Technology Challenged”
In addition, the City of Chicago will present several workshops on Wednesday afternoons. The first workshop is an ask questions and get answers with a city inspector, followed by workshops on how to become certified and do business with the City of Chicago, how to respond to a request for proposal, and how to obtain a mobile food license. All workshops are designed to help and encourage small business owners and entrepreneurs of the benefits of using todays technology to grow their businesses.
