It's that time again! Valentine's Day just a few hours away and the question of what to get her still ponders the mind of some men and for most others, what to get them (other women), is the question. Yep I said it. It’s a common topic around the holidays and of them all, Valentine's Day is the most popular day that spouses and significant others are caught with their Valentine's Day boo. It’s usually someone they work with (not always the case, of course). With Houston taking the number 3 spot for most cheaters, this shouldn't be a sensitive topic. Boo is a term that is derived from the French word "beau" meaning beautiful. In 18th century England it meant an admirer, usually male. It made it's way into Afro-Caribean language perhaps through the French colonisation of some Caribean islands. Now meaning girl or boyfriend.
We have spoken before about how relationships develop between co-workers. Even those who have significant others at home, can find themselves making obligations to the one they work with over the one they live with. The workplace is a second home to many, and therefore those who work together are much like an extended family. Add a little temptation, and you have more than that. When your day begins at 5am, kissing wife or husband goodbye for the next 12 hours; only to come home and only want to sleep-to prepare to do it all over again; there is not much time left in between for your own relationship to grow and prosper. Without proper direction, counseling, understanding you can part without even realizing it.
Florist, novelty shops and other specialty gift delivery services, absolutely get a kick out of the double and sometime triple orders they receive from one person on Valentine’s Day; that have the same or similar, loving, sexual messages. Some messages even tell a whole story when pieced together, one florist said and this is why they mention their confidentiality clause in doing business with them.
Now we are not talking about the gentlemen who are actually making said purchases for the women in his life outside of the other woman. There's always an exception to the rule.
However, when the florist made these remarks, you have to agree that one guy name Carl who’s sending the same or even different bouquet with a message attached such as:
“I love you from the depth of my soul and nothing could keep us apart. I can’t wait to see you tonight”.
Same Carl writes another recipient, “You are the most wonderful thing that happened in my life and we will be together really soon. Sorry I we can’t be together tonight, I will make it up to you”.
And last, the same Carl writes the third recipient: “Sorry we will miss this special day but I hope to be in your heart always. It was so great seeing you today”.
Most companies do not condone in house dating. They speak through their company handbook to workers about fraternizing in the office. Some companies enforce strict policies and procedures on office dating as well as enforce those violations by reprimands and in some case suspension or termination from the workplace. Others have more relaxed standards, allowing husband and wife teams to work in the same departments as well as those dating to work with each other, and only ask that they do not let personal matters interfere with work. Still, with the workplace being second home to some, relationships between co-workers develop that may escalate into a “Workplace Boo” situation.
