The Wall Street Journal recently ran an article on how at-work moms are overwhelming their stay-at-home mom friends with requests to do their errands, pick up their kids from school, and watch their pets. Although most SAHM moms won't mind doing the occasional favor, ask too many and you'll soon burn out a friendship.
Ms. Fitzpatrick, a Jupiter, Fla., blogger and freelance writer, finds that PTAs, church groups and charities zero in on people like her—those who don't work in an office. "You're expected to pull the weight of all the people who can't," she says. "It's as if I have to explain what I do all day." A veteran stay-at-home mom who has been saddled with looking after the kids of working parents, Ms. Fitzpatrick says that at times she has felt like "the doormat of the neighborhood." ~Yes, I'm Home. Companies like At Your Service, which is located in West County, can pick up the slack for busy moms who don't mind paying a personal assistant to help out. The service costs $35 an hour, with cost saving package deals starting at $125 a month for 4 hours of errand running.

Interesting sounding service. I love the fact that they offer gift certificates. Seems like a great idea for those people on my gift list who don't need more "stuff."
