Workers found a woman in the basement of an Indianapolis home. On Oct. 28, Fox 59 reported that an 83-year-old woman was found tied up with duct tape. A few construction workers were doing a job in the home when they heard noise coming from the basement. They decided to check it out and what was discovered was surprising and very disheartening.
The woman was duct taped to a chair and had a piece of duct tape over her mouth. It's unknown how she was able to make noise but she is extremely lucky that the construction workers heard her. Had she had stayed tied up in the basement for a couple of more days, she may have not survived.
After the workers found the woman in the Indianapolis basement they called police. There is currently an investigation ongoing and authorities are trying to figure out what happened and who would tie an elderly woman up in such a way... and why. Police will talk to the woman once they get the "okay" from her doctors.
"The woman was taken to Wishard Hospital due to dehydration. Authorities do not know how long the woman has been in the basement, but they believe she was there for at least a day," Fox 59 reports. She is expected to be okay.
The workers that found the woman in the basement are cooperating with Indianapolis police, answering questions and helping in any way they can. If you have any information you are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS (8477).
