Because any workout routine can become boring or lose it's effectiveness, Curves for Women has introduced a new Jillian Michaels workout. Curves on Northshore, owned by Kathy Sheppard, is a participating franchise and Kathy's members are very happy with the new program.

For those unfamiliar with the Curves concept, only women can be members and work out. There are machines where members excercise and then, when prompted, the members move to a recovery pad. Members alternate machines and recovery pads for a thirty minute work out. Curves has a Curves Smart program, which uses a fob inserted in the machines, where the computer monitors and evaluates the member's work out. Curves still has the popular Zumba Latin dance work out.

The Jillian Michaels work out is a Jillian Michaels work out. As in her popular work out videos, she demonstrates the hard way and the modification for those not in Jillian Michaels form. In the Curves version, the members alternate between the machines and the center floor for the Jillian Michaels portion. The routines change the first of the month to avoid the members' bodies get used to the work out.

These Jillian Michaels workouts contain lots of movements from and into the plank position, such as "inchworm to plank and "plank moguls". These work outs are very effective and efficient (trust me). Member Kathy Martin "likes the way she feels after the work out". But, Kathy feels that the real motivation comes from the Curves Coaches (especially Dee LaCasse) and the other members.
