Words Like Daggers, an Omaha, Nebraska based metal band, signed by Indianola Records, scheduled to rock it out at the Vaudeville Mews this Friday in Des Moines, Iowa. Words Like Daggers is a hardcore metal band that consists of Lawton Herbert (Vocals), Austin L’Ecuyer (Guitar, Vocals), Dalton Howland (Guitar), Darrin Near (Bass), and Justin Essink (Drums). They have shared the stage with bands such as Attack Attack!, Haste The Day, and Asking Alexandria. Recently they have released their debut EP entitled These Transient Times.
Joining Words Like Daggers on the stage is What Dwells Within. A Harlan, Iowa based hardcore punk/pop band that formed in July, 2009. The unsigned band consists of Connor Gifford (Vocals), Sean Sorensen (Vocals), Nathan Schwery (Guitar), RJ Ewert (Bass), Dan (LB) Pedersen (Drums), and Cody Pedersen (Keyboard).
Vaudeville Mews is located in downtown Des Moines and has show’s nearly every night at their venue. One of the city's most eclectic music venues, Vaudeville Mews hosts concerts by local acts and emerging and established regional and national acts. The bar has no set hours, usually opening about an hour before scheduled shows. Most concerts range from $5 to $8, with some larger shows being more expensive.
Also performing this Friday are At War With Giants, Stand By Your Anchors (Taken off bill), I Cry Wolfe, Wolves Among Ruins, and Nightmares for Dreamers. Doors open at 4pm, show starts at 4:30pm. Tickets sold at the door for $5.
