Khalid Wooten impressed NFL scouts with his strength on Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
The Nevada Wolf Pack senior finished tied for third among cornerbacks with 17 repetitions in the bench press, according to NFL.com. Boise State's Jamar Taylor and Connecticut's Dwayne Gratz each had 22 repetitions. Wooten had 17 along with Louisville's Adrian Bushell and Southeastern Louisiana's Robert Alford.
Wooten, though, didn't fare as well in the other six events.
The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Wooten (he was listed at 6-foot, 200 by the Wolf Pack in the fall), had the 20th best 40-yard dash time at 4.53. His vertical leap of 33.5 inches was 27th, his 177-inch broad jump was 25th and he was 17th in the 3-cone drill (6.95).
Wooten was also 12th in the 20-yard shuttle (4.18). His 11.41 time in the 60-yard shuttle was third but just six cornerbacks tested in the event.
Duke Williams of the Wolf Pack tested with the safeties on Tuesday but his results are not available on NFL.com.
