Feeling lucky? Want to help local furry friends find forever homes? It's not too late to register for the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary's bus trip to Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, CT. The trip leaves the Cornerstone Building at 191 Social Street in Woonsocket, RI at 11am this Sunday, February 19th, 2012 and returns at 7pm. Tickets are $30.00 per person and include a $15.00 Keno coupon and free buffet or $10.00 food coupon for the excursion. Proceeds from the fundraiser support the cat shelter directly and ensure that its residents continue to enjoy quality care while staff assists potential owners with the adoption process. In addition, every Saturday morning from 8am, the shelter hosts an indoor yard sale.
Located at 266 Mendon Road in Woonsocket, RI, the Sanctuary is a private, no-kill non-profit organization staffed by volunteers which depends on private donations and fundraising efforts in order to support the health, safety and welfare of homeless cats in the Woonsocket area, to promote public awareness of the problems related to cat over-population, and to meet expenses and keep adoption fees low. Adoption fees for kittens up to a year are $160.00, for cats 1-3 years $120.00, and over 3 years, $105.00, and include the cost of shots and spay/neuter. Donations enable shelter staff to provide for the needs of cats up for adoption, and also to offer a haven for cats considered unadoptable where they can live their lives in dignity and comfort. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and can be directed to the use of donor's choice (spay/neuter, veterinary costs, etc.) and, as per the usual, donations of kitty litter and cleaning supplies are always welcome.
