Woody Allen denies sexually assaulting daughter Dylan Farrow

On Feb. 1, Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of film magnate Woody Allen and actress Mia Farrow, wrote an open letter to The New York Times and declared for the first time publicly that her father sexually assaulted when she was seven-years-old.

According to Dylan, "these things happened so often, so routinely, so skillfully hidden from a mother that would have protected me had she known, that I thought it was normal.” Dylan is now 28-years-old.

On Feb. 2, MSN reported that Allen responded to his daughter’s allegations, saying that her story was “disgraceful and untrue.”

On Sunday, Allen’s publicist, Leslee Dart, said on her client’s behalf:

"Mr. Allen has read the article and found it untrue and disgraceful. He will be responding very soon.”

"In the meantime, it is essential that your coverage make the following FACTS clear:

"At the time, a thorough investigation was conducted by court appointed independent experts. The experts concluded there was no credible evidence of molestation; that Dylan Farrow had an inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality; and that Dylan Farrow had likely been coached by her mother Mia Farrow. No charges were ever filed."

Also on Sunday, Allen’s lawyer, Elkan Abramowitz, echoed Allen’s publicist’s sentiments and laid full blame for Dylan’s story on Dylan’s mother.

"It is tragic that after 20 years a story engineered by a vengeful lover resurfaces after it was fully vetted and rejected by independent authorities. The one to blame for Dylan's distress is neither Dylan nor Woody Allen."

Twenty years ago when Allen and Farrow were embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their two adopted children, Farrow testified in court that Allen had sexually assaulted then two-year-old Dylan.

Then, as now, it was Allen’s lawyer’s assertion that Farrow made up the story about Dylan’s sexual abuse in an effort to support Farrow’s side of the child custody battle against Allen.
