Woodward’s comment ‘Obama exhibiting Nixonian madness’ sparks backlash

Sunday saw the liberal media dog pile on Bob Woodward for his exposing Obama as the author of the sequestration. For the last two weeks the president has been campaigning on the economic damage that the sequestration cuts will do to the economy. The government projects a deficit for 2013 of $850 billion after the $85 billion in cuts. This is $500 billion less than the deficits of the last four years.

Woodward accused of exaggeration

Having pulled back the curtain on Obama, the long venerated by the Left Woodward for exposing Nixon’s shenanigans was steamrollered by those same liberal journalists for exposing Obama. Woodward says he received veiled threats from a senior White House aide he had counted as a friend. While liberal media outlets are all on board with Obama in declaring that the sequester will destroy the economy and is the Republicans’ fault, conservative media backed Woodward’s honesty.

The sequestration of $85 billion may be a drop in the bucket to federal spending, but Obama and the Democrats have yet to vote on their C.R.s that have been funding the government without a budget for the last four years. It remains to be seen if they actually propose to borrow only $850 billion or if they make the deficit as high as the last four years making the sequester cuts meaningless. Along with cuts to the military Obama threatens to make major government closings one of which, White House tours, has been shut down even though the people who give the tours are unpaid volunteers.
