Classic Cinemas today announced that they will be holding special screenings in celebration of the Halloween season. A special midnight screening of "Shaun of the Dead" will take place on October 25, and an early October morning screening of "Ghostbusters" will commence on October 5. Both screenings will be held at the theater chain's recently renovated Woodstock Theatre in Woodstock, IL.
The 80's classic "Ghostbusters" will put the Woodstock Theatre's brand new digital projection system to the test at 10am on October 5. Admission to the film is free, and children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the screening.
Edgar Wright's "Shaun of the Dead" kicked off the Cornetto trilogy(which recently concluded with "The World's End") in 2004, and made Simon Pegg and Nick Frost household names in the United States. The BAFTA-nominated zombie comedy screens at 12am on Friday, October 25. Admission is only five dollars.
Both of the special Woodstock Theatre screenings are co-sponsored by the Woodstock Independent, Harvard Main Line, and Haunted Square. The Haunted Square is hosting a haunted house in the middle of The Woodstock Square. All profits from the haunted house are going to the Family Alliance and to help restore the Woodstock Courthouse. Characters from the Haunted Square will appear before both screenings.
