Woodstock International Film Festival starts its tenth year this week

Starting on Friday, the Classic Cinemas movie theater in Woodstock will once again screen some of the best in recent foreign language films for McHenry County locals to enjoy.  The day marks the start of the Woodstock International Film Festival, and the tenth in the theater’s history.  Five films will play over five days, beginning with “In a Better World” January 20th.  The film, a Denmark original, took home the Oscar for Best Foreign Language film just one year ago.

Another notable screening will be the film “Biutiful”, starring Academy Award-winning actor Javier Bardem, on Monday, January 23.  The film was directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, who also directed “Babel” and “21 Grams.”  The festival’s final film will screen on Tuesday, January 24.

Classic Cinemas has theater locations in McHenry County and throughout the Chicagoland area.  The majority of their locations offer quality service, reasonable ticket prices and even their own rewards program.  For a complete schedule of films at the Festival, go to www.classiccinemas.com and click on the ‘Special Events’ link on the left hand side of the page.
