Woodard, Clark make C-USA second teams

James Woodard and Ashley Clark led the charge in a lot of games for Tulsa this season, it resulted them into a spot on the All-Conference USA Basketball teams.

Clark was announced to the women’s team on Sunday and Woodard was named to the men‘s squad on Monday, both made second team.

Woodard, a sophomore from Arcadia (Okla.), who contributed to the Golden Hurricane’s 18-12 overall regular season finish, 13-3 in Conference USA, which led to a share of the league championship, averaged 15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in conference play, leading the Golden Hurricane to a 13-3 C-USA record and a share of the regular season championship.

Overall, Woodard leads the Hurricane with 14.9 points and 6.0 rebounds, and adds per game. He has scored double-digit points in 26 games this season, including 23 straight.

Clark, a sophomore from Midwest City, (Okla.) and a starter in most games this season, had a team-best 14.5 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, 94 assists and 45 steals. and is second on the team with four blocks. She is eighth in assists, 12th in scoring and 15th in assist-turnover ratio in the league.

Clark has scored in double figures in 22 games this season, and has led TU in scoring 15 times. That includes a career-best 26 points against East Carolina.
