Wonder Woman gets movie deal & Neal Adams to visit Mobile: Comic writing is hot!

Scoot over Superman - Wonder Woman is finally going to be featured in a movie series from Warner Bros. Pictures based on the Amazonian character from DC Comics. Gal Gadot will premiere the prized role of Wonder Woman in the as yet untitled Superman vs. Batman film slated to hit theaters May 6, 2016. With the demand for super heroes and comic book characters at an all time high, comic book writers and artists alike are looking forward to a bright future making pop culture history.

In Mobile, Ala. comic book stores like 99 Issues Comics & Gaming feature everything from Silver Age books dating back to the 1940s to 200 new release titles monthly. Shop owner Chris Barnett is making preparations to host a signing event with one of the biggest names in comics, Neal Adams.

Neal Adams has worked on comics such as Green Arrow, X-Men, and Green Lantern. He's also responsible for updating the highly recognizable image of Batman from the blue and pastel Batsuit of the 1960s to the sleek and sexy modern version in black. Be sure to catch his book signing on Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. He'll be signing books and small commission work for fans young and old.

For aspiring comic book writers, Chris invites indies to visit the shop and show off their skills. Chris also goes on to say that those interested in the industry will find the local area to be highly supportive to newcomers hoping to see their own work in print.
