Womens Self Defense (Video)

Such an important thing today for many women to learn how to defend themselves. But what is self defense for women today? Is it just to get an exercise, to pass and kill time during the day at a martial arts school, or is there for personal safety too feel secure after leaving the dojo after a great class?

Self Defense for Girls and Women

Many say grappling style best suits a woman since she will likely be taken down or be in a position that will limit the use of her legs and hands. Upright fighting styles will teach her how to disarm an attacker if she could learn to use her hands and feet. Or perhaps the most direct of self defense is using the mace, but she has to target the eyes and in the face, in order for her to run away from her attacker, but what about if she is faced with multiple attackers, which will disable her location of her surroundings. Does any of these type of comments or remarks sound familiar?

There is no correct or better style for correct self defense. Many women just want to feel secure and to know they can run away to their car after coming home from work or buying a bag of grociries to feed her family. To even feel qualified to defend her children if the father of the family is not present to protect her family. All styles of Martial Arts have beneficial skills to teach a woman to feel strong and secure. There is no right or wrong answer, but to learn to evade from a situation, and to protect one self, even for women to feel secure and safe when the time comes to take care of herself.

My advice is to find a good school that will appeal to what you are looking for, what you find interesting, and take what is offered from the school through that instructor. All martial arts come a string of a root where it started. It all now depends what and how and when do you wish to use certain skills in self-defense. But what is most important is you enjoy what you are learning. There is no better style in any martial art. Its what you take from it, and what you learn from it, that will make you what you wish to be, not only to become a martial artist, but to feel safe, secure and strong. Its what you put into the training will result what you will make out of it. The most responsible thing you can do, is to join a class, and join a school where you can be what you wish not to become, a victim of a crime.
