The internships are six weeks long, and full-time 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, five days a week. Students must be 16 years old by June 23, 2014 in order to apply. The application deadline is March 28, 2014.

Internships for high school students are rare, and these three opportunities are incredible. Instead of getting coffee or spending days immersed in file cabinets, these interns will be hands-on. The three projects include re-organizing the N.W. Harris Learning Collection and preparing specimens for educational loans, documenting lichen mimicry, a phenomenon seen in some large insects such as praying mantises, or an archaeological study of Peruvian materials. Interested students may apply to only one or all three, utilizing a separate application for each one.
