Women's history month - N. Starcat Shields continued

...pleased to find an active network of folks. I started writing my Starcat's Corner column for the newsletter in 1997. I've since helped edit the newsletter and I'm now serving as the Network's President. This wonderful organization has been helping Maine Pagans connect with each other since 1989. All members receive the quarterly newsletter, filled with Pagan-themed articles, poems, and upcoming events.

Some of the members of EarthTides founded the Maine Pagan Clergy Association in 2001 and I was invited to be a part of its creation. I serve on the board and became a licensed priestess through the MPCA in 2003. I also serve as chair of the Education Committee. I recommend this organization to any self-identified Pagan clergy who wish to network with other clergy members, deepen their study of what it means to serve the community, and/or become legally licensed clergy.

Feline Dreamers is a co-creation with my creative partner, BlackLion. We had been exploring the concepts of "right livelihood" and "following your bliss," and we started Feline Dreamers as a reflection of our work together. We're now just about ready to launch a new website, which will offer free writings as well as products for sale, such as The 30-Day Core Belief Kit. Feline Dreamers is a framework for exploring personal spirituality. Anyone can use the tools we offer, regardless of their religious or spiritual practices. Our writings and teachings are a distillation of our own life experiences, intuitions, explorations, and study. We draw from many sources to create our unique philosophy and approach and so, of course, my Pagan spirituality influences what I bring to our projects.

Keri: What would you say to the You-you-used-to-be if you could meet her now?
Starcat: “Be true to yourself. It’s more important to follow your calling and learn more about the things that truly interest you than to try and make other people happy. The only one you can truly make happy is you, and from there your positive energy will ripple outward into the community. Reach deep within and learn to love and accept yourself fully, as you are.”

Keri: What would you say to the You-you-are-becoming as a message from her past?
Starcat: “Continue to learn and grow and find new exciting adventures to pursue. You are always on the journey, so enjoy the travel toward your goals as much as the achievement of them. Be thankful for all the many blessings that surround you. Thank you so much for your love and perseverance.”
